  • PROMOTION POLICY

Pre-primary education provides a stimulating environment for all-round development of the child which lays the foundation for a more formal approach to learning.

Learning in the pre-primary years is done through a thematic approach wherein each child’s unique interests, ability, personality and style of learning is recognized and can be evaluated.

Children at St. Thomas’ learn best as they are actively involved in the learning process through a high degree of participation, contribution and production.

Evaluation happens through a continuous and interactive process involving group activities, presentations, worksheets, speaking and comprehension skills.

To make learning an enjoyable experience through acknowledging and aiming to meet the students’ diverse needs - physical, social, intellectual, aesthetic and cultural, the primary school focusses on the student’s need to know, understand and develop the ability to experiment, explore and discover as part of their schooling through an interactive environment.

The 4 test cycles help the child to better adjust and adapt to the learning environment and assist the teachers and parents alike to mould the above mentioned environment to the student’s needs.

The students will be assessed internally on a quarterly basis (4 Test Cycles) through a checklist of assignments and observational and subject enrichment activities in order to develop a sense of curiosity and the desire to explore.

This shall help evaluate their areas of achievements and to work on their weak areas for further improvement.

Students are taught to be life-long learners through independent thinking, critical reading, writing and analytical skills. The activities are selected to enhance the interest of students in the subject besides linking the information with their daily life to keep it relevant to them.

The examination for the academic year 2024-25 would be conducted as per the following assessment structure. Overall achievements of students in scholastic and co-scholastic areas will be recorded and reflected as per Order No DE.5/212/Exam/16-17/Part-1/717-727 dated 07.10.2022 in the progress report card.
