Basketball

It is well known that only a sound body can boast of a sound mind. To fulfil this, sports should be included in school curriculum. Playing group games have a positive impact on individual self-esteem, promotes better interaction among children, imparts values of co-operation, sharing and to deal with both victory and defeat. The basketball court is ideal for basketball training, practice and matches.
We have an international standard size synthetic court with two full time coaches who have been training the students for National School Games as well as Zonal Tournaments.


Table Tennis

Added to outdoor activities, a covered play area with a wide range of play equipments give uninterrupted opportunity to play, especially in the monsoon season.

The Table Tennis hall houses international standard STAG tables for senior students and 4 mini STAG tables for the pre-primary and primary students. The students are trained under a highly experienced and passionate player of this game who has coached several National-level players.

Chess Room

There is a need to provide children accurate and authentic information and help them to construct knowledge and acquire life skills, so that they cope up with the concerns related to the process of growing up, counter stress and strains and cope up with examination stress.

Our fully air-conditioned Chess Room helps students in further enhancing their analytical and thinking skills. The room is equipped with 8 chess-board tables of international standards. Our students have also been actively participating at the National level Championships.

Yoga

Yoga practice contributes to the overall development of the child and various studies have shown that it contributes to flexibility and muscular fitness and also corrects postural defects among school children. Yoga not only invigorate and refreshes the body, it also activates and boosts the performance of the mind and at the same time play a great role in disciplining the whole person.

‘A place where peace prevails.’ In the hustle bustle of school life, a place where students naturally calm down is the Yoga Room. The room requires no furniture or equipment; except for positive vibrations and a non-material ambience. The vibrant charts, illustrating the different ‘yogasanas’, and the blue and red yoga-mats help children dive into the profundity of their minds, seeking eternal bliss or ‘Ananda.’

Gymnastics

Gymnastics contribute to not merely the physical development of the child but have a positive impact on psychosocial and mental development as well. The room is equipped with mats, balancing beam, vaulting horse, wall bar, gym ball, hoops, ribbon, ropes, balls and clubs. We have two full time coaches who have been helping our students fly high in National, State as well as Zonal games.

Lawn Tennis

Sports and games give the students an opportunity to lead as well as be lead. Thus, sports help to bring out and nurture the qualities of leadership.
The school houses two International standard Synthetic Lawn Tennis courts for trainees to hone their skills under the guidance of the best coaches in Dwarka. The students of St. Thomas’ Dwarka have made a mark at National School Games and Zonal level.

Football

A well woven academic set up at the school presents an ideal climate for students to grow and balance their aspirations be it academic or co-curricular. Laying an unrestricted plan for Sports and Physical Education, the vision is best represented with programmes framed exclusively at the campus.
The school has a natural turf football ground with goal posts that facilitates training in the basics of football by two professional coaches. The football team of St. Thomas’ School Dwarka is one of the best teams in Delhi-NCR and many of our students play the sport at not just National but International level as well.

Taekwondo

Physical exercises help to inculcate discipline. Every game or sport has its own set of rules. One has to follow them scrupulously.
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and the national sport of South Korea. In Korean, tae means "to strike or break with foot"; kwon means "to strike or break with fist"; and do means "way", "method", or "path". Thus, taekwondo may be loosely translated as "the way of the hand and the foot." It combines combat techniques, self-defence, sport, exercise, and in some cases meditation and philosophy.

The room is equipped with mats, fan-pads, power-pads, chest guards, head-guards, shin-guards, arm-guards and Taekwondo kits.

Aesthetically trained by the two coaches, students of our school have participated in the National Games, CBSE Championships and SDFI.

Cricket

The school has lush green cricket ground with a mud-covered pitch along with four cricket nets (two natural and two cemented). The students of St. Thomas’ School Dwarka have been actively participating and winning various tournaments at different levels.

Skating Rink

The school has a specialized Skating arena where children master the fun-filled sport under the guidance of an experienced coach. The courtyard is equipped with support bars to ensure safety. Our students have brought laurels to the school by winning awards at the National as well as Zonal level.

The school comprises of four international standard cemented courts. The students are trained by skilled and experienced coaches.
